YUGEN PRIVACY POLICY

THE PURPOSE OF THIS DOCUMENT

This document sets out our privacy policy for the purposes of market research conducted by Yugen Research.

WHO IT COVERS

All market research participants and survey respondents, and individuals contacted to be invited to take part in market research irrespective of whether research was subsequently carried out.

WHAT INFORMATION WE ARE REFERRING TO

The collection of gender, ethnic and geodemographic information for the purpose of profiling. Collection of information on your behaviours and attitudes as requested within the questionnaire or supporting interview for the purposes of gathering insight and monitoring trends. All data we collect and hold that is personally identifiable to you. Your personal information includes, numerical, written, audio, audio visual, imagery and observation.

WHO WILL SEE OR RECEIVE YOUR PERSONAL DATA

All collected market research data is anonymised. This means it is analysed in a manner that you can not be personally identified. Any sharing of market research data outside of the market research team and associated research suppliers, will have all personal identifiers removed. Typical recipients of this type of information will be the sponsors of respective projects conducted by Yugen Research. On the occasion the project sponsors wish to view live video discussions, we will ask for your written consent.

Identification of you is not permitted without your prior written consent.

LEGITIMATE INTEREST FOR COLLECTION AND PROCESSING YOUR INFORMATION

Yugen Research collect this information for the purposes of market research intelligence to enable us to deliver on our contractual obligations to project sponsors.

RETENTION PERIOD

All personally identifiable data collected for the purposes of Market Research is stored with Yugen Research or with a third party data collection and/or processing for a period of 12 months, unless requested otherwise by the participant. After that period any personal identifiers (such as email addresses, postal address) will be removed from data sets and all remaining information anonymised.

OUR COMPLIANCE COMMITMENT

Data we hold about you is compliant to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018 and Data protection act 2018 and Market Research Society (MRS) codes of practice.

Sharing your Personal Data: If another organisation will act as Joint Controller, they will hold their own Privacy Policies and this will be supplementary to your rights outlined in this document and will not replace it. We will provide you with the name of any third party organisations used in the processing of your data at your request.

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information about you that we hold. There is no charge. If you would like to make a Personal Data request you can email us at this address: alex@yugenresearch.com

To ask for inaccurate personal data rectified, or completed if it is incomplete.
To have personal data erased in certain circumstances.
To request the restriction or suppression of your personal data in certain circumstances.
To request the portability of your data in certain circumstances.
To object to the processing of data in certain circumstances.
You can make a request orally or in writing. We will respond in a calendar month.

FURTHER INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR RIGHTS:

Personal data includes information that is about someone or relates to someone - known under data protection legislation as a “data subject”.
You are the data subject, for example, when Yugen Research holds your name on its computer system.
Your name could be together with your address, date of birth, phone number and e-mail address.
Each of these items of information will be personal data you are the data subject as you are the individual to whom it relates. It also includes your opinions or opinions of you by others.
As the Data Subject of personal data, you have fundamental rights under data protection legislation (GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
